Sealed by your own words
Practise a concept in sentences you write yourself. Kalima tracks successful use across different days before marking it acquired.
Measured honestly

Kalima for Arabic teachersFrequently asked questions
I have tried other language apps. What makes Kalima different?
Kalima teaches fuṣḥā (Modern Standard Arabic) from the alphabet up to Classical Arabic texts, with an AI tutor that corrects your sentences and names the rule. Your pronunciation is scored letter by letter on eight contrasts learners confuse, such as ḥāʾ and hāʾ or ʿayn and hamza, and your handwriting is checked from a photo of your paper. Grammar is taught as a system, through naḥw, ṣarf and balāgha, up to classical prose without vowel marks, and a concept counts as learned only when you get it right again on a later day. Try the public lessons and a first lesson to see whether this approach suits you.
Is Fusha Modern Standard Arabic or Classical Arabic? And why not a dialect?
Fusha (fuṣḥā) is the formal Arabic shared across the Arab world: the language of books, news and speeches. The dialects are the everyday language of each region. Modern Standard Arabic is its present-day form and Classical Arabic its older form; they share one grammar. Kalima teaches Fusha: the Modern Standard Arabic of books and the news, on a path that continues into classical texts. It never teaches a dialect, and a dialect word in your sentence is corrected into Fusha. Lessons keep the vowel marks and progress through morphology, syntax and graded texts.
I cannot read a single Arabic letter yet. Is this for me?
Yes. The path starts at the very beginning: the 28 letters, their connected forms, the short vowels, and sounding out real words — then vocabulary, ṣarf and naḥw, all the way up to reading unvowelled classical prose. Onboarding checks where you are and starts you at exactly the right place. Already read fluently? It measures that too and skips you ahead.
Will I get feedback on my mistakes — and on my pronunciation?
Yes. When you write, a correction card shows the corrected sentence and explains your mistake in English or French. In the pronunciation drill (Kalima Pro), a dedicated speech scorer listens as you read aloud and judges, letter by letter, the sounds learners most often miss: the emphatics ص ض ط ظ, ع, ح and ق, with articulation tips.
Is the subscription really unlimited?
No — and we would rather say so plainly than bury it in fine print. Every conversation, correction and spoken line costs real AI model time, so your subscription carries a generous fair-use allowance instead of hard daily limits. It is sized so that serious study, every single day, still leaves headroom — most learners never notice it exists. And if you do reach it, nothing breaks: Bahir keeps teaching and your lessons carry on. Only usage far beyond any daily-study pattern pauses new conversations until the renewal date. No overage fees, no surprises on your bill — ever.
