To grant more time
To leave someone more time before requiring what he has to do or pay. It is said above all towards a person who owes a debt or is in difficulty.
أَنْظَرَتِ الْمُعَلِّمَةُ الطَّالِبَ يَوْمَيْنِ لِإِتْمَامِ الْوَاجِبِ.
The teacher gave the student two more days to finish the homework.
To sell someone a thing while agreeing to be paid later. It is said of a merchant who hands over the goods at once and waits for his money.
