Disgrace, humiliation

The state of someone who is brought low in the eyes of others and is ashamed of it, often after a fault or a defeat known to all.

شَعَرَ اللِّصُّ بِالْخِزْيِ أَمَامَ الْجِيرَانِ.

The thief felt the disgrace in front of the neighbours.

Ruin, a crushing misfortune (less common)
