Fixed, firm, stable
Said of what stays firmly in its place and does not move: a heavy, well-planted thing that cannot be shifted.
هَذَا الْعَمُودُ رَاسٍ فِي الْأَرْضِ
This post is firmly fixed in the ground.
Said of mountains, and used on its own to name them: the mountains themselves, seen as masses that nothing can shake.
ظَهَرَتِ الرَّوَاسِي الْعَالِيَةُ خَلْفَ الْغُيُومِ
The high mountains appeared behind the clouds.
Said of a ship that has stopped and is held in place in a harbour or near a shore.
