to see

To perceive someone or something with the eyes. Said of anything that comes into view.

رَأَى سَامِي الْقِطَارَ فِي الْمَحَطَّةِ.

Sami saw the train at the station.

to consider, to judge

To see with the mind: to hold someone or something to be such, to form a view or an opinion of it.

رَأَى الْمُعَلِّمُ الدَّرْسَ سَهْلًا.

The teacher considered the lesson easy.

to face, to look onto

By a figure of speech, said of a place or a house standing opposite another, as though it saw it.

دَارُ الْجَارِ تَرَى السُّوقَ.

The neighbour's house looks onto the market.
