The fact of being bad; followed by another noun it says that this thing is bad or in a bad state: bad conduct, bad weather, bad luck.
اِشْتَكَى الْجَارُ مِنْ سُوءِ الطَّرِيقِ
The neighbour complained about the bad state of the road.
The damage or misfortune that befalls someone: an injury, a loss, an illness.
