To leave, to let alone
To stop concerning oneself with someone or something, leaving him or it where and as it is. This verb is hardly heard except in the present and in the command; for the past, another verb meaning “to leave” is used.
يَذَرُ الرَّاعِي الْغَنَمَ فِي الْمَرْعَى.
The shepherd leaves the sheep in the pasture.
To stop a thing one was doing, or not to do it at all.
يَذَرُ سَامِي اللَّعِبَ وَقْتَ الدَّرْسِ.
Sami leaves off playing at lesson time.
to leave, to quit
It is the ordinary verb, used in every tense: in particular it supplies the past that the headword lacks.
to leave, to let
وَدَعَ
Very close and under the same limit, being hardly heard except in the present and the command; it is the one ordinarily used to say “let me”.
